Altschermbeck is a district of the municipality of Schermbeck in North Rhine-Westphalia .
Geographical location
Altschermbeck forms the eastern part of the core town of Schermbeck on Bundesstrasse 58 and Landesstrasse 607. The district is bounded by (Neu-) Schermbeck and Overbeck in the west, by Raesfeld-Erle in the east by Dorsten and in the south by Gahlen . The entire local area is part of the Hohe Mark-Westmünsterland Nature Park . Altschermbeck is the largest district in terms of area Schermbeck. The villages of Üfte and Rüste belong to the district.
history
Altschermbeck has been Westphalian since the division of Schermbeck in the 14th century and part of the glory of Lembeck . From 1816 the glory with Altschermbeck belonged to the Prussian district of Recklinghausen .
Until the end of 1974 Altschermbeck was an independent municipality in the Westphalian office of Hervest-Dorsten . On January 1, 1975, as part of the reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, the municipalities of Schermbeck, Altschermbeck, Bricht, Damm, Dämmerwald, Gahlen, the majority of Overbeck and Weselerwald form the municipality of Schermbeck.
