Signalpost was a Danish railway magazine that covered both railway and model railway topics. It was published between 1962 and 1993.

The motto of the magazine was an apolitical magazine for railways in reality and in model ( Danish Upolitisk tidsskrift om jernbaner i virkelighed og i model ). The magazine was published as a hobby by a group of railway enthusiasts, all non-professional work was done for free. Any surpluses from sales were used for research into railway history.

The editor-in-chief was Ulf Holtrup and the final editorial team consisted of Poul Adamsen, Hans Gram Alkjær, Ib V. Andersen, Ole Faurhøj, Ole Buskgaard, Arne Gregeren, Jesper Reinfeldt, Jørgen Groth and Erik V. Pedersen. Freelance writers included Jens Bruun-Pedersen, Erik Olsen, Bent Hansen, Hans Gerner Christiansen, and Poul W. Skadhauge.

Signalpost was originally a membership magazine for the Dansk Model-Jernbane Klub , and later also for the Jernbanehistorisk Selskab . After a break of several years, Signalposten was sold as a subscription magazine from 1968. The interest turned out to be greater than the editorial team had planned.

format

In the first few years, signal posts were published in an expanded A5 format, containing so-called folded sheets of foil. From 1978 the magazine was converted to A4 format. This made it much easier to reproduce larger drawings of vehicles and buildings.

In 1993, the editorial team made the difficult decision to discontinue the magazine. The old issues of signal posts are still being traded. It is possible to download all published editions of signal posts in PDF format from the Internet.
