Sigvald Refsum

Sigvald Bernhard Refsum (born May 8, 1907 in Gransherad , today in Notodden ; † July 8, 1991 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian neurologist and university professor.

biography

Sigvald Refsum studied medicine at the University of Oslo with a doctorate in 1946. He taught at the University of Bergen from 1951 , then from 1954 until his retirement in 1978 at the University of Oslo.

In 1945 he discovered Refsum's syndrome, which was later named after him .
