Former hut house Silberkammer

The Silberkammer treasure trove is a former mine in Johanngeorgenstadt in the Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony . The mining work under the name Silberkammer-Fundgrube began in 1707. According to the Engelschall Chronicle, the first silver ore was delivered as early as the Reminiscere quarter of 1709, although the ore delivery extracts only indicate the extraction of silver ores from 1719.

The hut house and the mine dump are located in Mittelstadt not far from Eibenstocker Straße. Mining activities have been taking place here since the end of the 17th century. With the Adolphus Stolln , which was built in 1707 , this and neighboring mines could be detached from the water in a timely manner.

Silberkammer shared mining fields with Katharina (also Catharina), Elisabeth and Gotthelf Schaller during the 18th century.

In 1818 the mine fields were taken over by Katharina including ore father Jakob . The mine was now called Silberkammer together with Katharina and Archfather Jakob Fundgrube .

Due to the poor economic situation of the mine, it was consolidated in 1821 with the Gotthelf Schaller fund under the name Gotthelf Schaller and Silberkammer Fundgrube .

In 1838, the Gotthelf-Schaller- and Silberkammer-Fundgrube merged with other collieries to form the United Feld im Fastenberge union .

Today a beer and wine bar is operated in the former mine house of the Silberkammer treasure trove , which was initially used as the hat house of the Three Kings treasure trove . The shaft dump has also been preserved.
