Silke Traub

Silke Traub (* 1964 in Reutlingen ) is a German educational scientist, university lecturer and specialist book author.

Life

After completing a teaching degree and postgraduate studies at the PH Weingarten (1984–1990), Traub initially worked as a secondary school teacher. In 1999 she received her doctorate for a thesis on the effectiveness of teacher training measures. After working at the PH Weingarten and PH Schwäbisch Gmünd, she was offered a professorship for school pedagogy and general didactics at the Karlsruhe University of Education in 2007 . Since 2010 she has been in charge of adult education contact studies in Karlsruhe, and since 2012 also the teaching and learning center of the university.

Traub is the author of numerous didactic-methodical manuals, u. a. for free work, for self-directed and individualized learning, for cooperative teaching and learning (partly with Klaus Konrad), as well as for conversation, and co-author of the "basic pedagogical knowledge" (founded by Herbert Gudjons ) Silke Traub conducts advanced training for university lecturers, teachers and Multipliers at home and abroad.

Research priorities

Silke Traub has u. a. investigated the influence of project teaching on self-control processes in learners. Concept development and research design are based on the research program “Subjective Theories” (founded by Diethelm Wahl et al.). Her main focus today is the scientific support of individual schools, u. a. for the Luxembourg IFEN. Current research projects are in the area of ​​teacher training (practical school studies).
