Research and work focus

Diethelm Wahl and his research group have empirically investigated the “gap between knowledge and action” among teachers, university teachers and adult educators, and designed and evaluated effective concepts for bridging these over the long term. These include a. learning arrangements developed by himself, such as the sandwich principle, the learning tempo module and the multi-interview as well as the WeLL methods (WeLL = reciprocal teaching and learning) systematically examined in his research group. Together with Norbert Groeben, Brigitte Scheele and Jörg Schlee, he founded the “Research Program Subjective Theories FST”. For the field of top-class sport, he has developed stop codes for the trained focus of attention and for the regulation of emotions that impair performance.
