The Silver King Ranch is a historically significant farm 60 km northwest of Helena in Lewis and Clark County , Montana .

The Silver King Ranch was founded by Owen Byrnes, a Vermont native who worked as a manager and engineer at a nearby gold mine. He used land claims from the Homestead Act and land that he had bought from the Northern Pacific Railroad , and in 1908 created a 64-hectare property from it. In 1913 he purchased the adjoining homestead from George Johnson, which completed the Silver King Ranch. In 1922, Byrnes became the owner of the Jay Gould Mine, which he had promoted development. Byrnes was also a member of the Montana State Legislature for four terms .

The main building, the Owen Byrnes Residence, is a two-story log cabin and was built in 1914. There are a total of 15 contributing properties on the site , including a horse stable, a sleeping barrack, a beet cellar, a blacksmith's shop, an ice house and a smokehouse. Most of the buildings have not yet been dated to the exact year; they were probably all built between 1895 and 1914. On March 10, 1992, the Silver King Ranch was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
