Silversword is a fantasy role-playing game developed by Mario J. Gaida . It was released for iOS on January 13, 2012 and is available for the iPad and iPhone . The role-playing game was developed on the model of the classic role-playing game The Bard's Tale , but has an independent story that has no connection with the original. The game has been expanded to include a few modern game mechanics such as an automapping function. Since September 15, 2013, Silversword has also been available in a fully localized German version. The French language was added on January 8, 2018.

action

Silversword is set in the game world Tarnak, which is currently being overrun by monsters and orcs. The player takes control of a group of adventurers who come together in the ruined Cranbourgh Castle to avert the danger posed by the hordes of monsters. You make your way to the last free city of Annsharbour, which is besieged by the orcs. On the way there, the adventurers have to find their way through the hordes of monsters and also explore dark dungeons.

Gameplay

The adventure group consists of seven members whose character class and values are determined at the beginning of the game. Each character can belong to one of the seven races: humans, dwarves, elves, halflings, gnomes, high men and barbarians. Each race has its own unique characteristics that make themselves felt in the game. Each character can allocate attribute points to the following attributes: strength, intelligence, luck, constitution and dexterity. In addition, each character belongs to a character class. A total of eleven character classes are available for this: warrior, paladin, thief, bard, hunter, monk, summoner, magician, sorcerer, sorcerer and archmage.

Many game elements were taken from the game series The Bard's Tale . As with the classics, the magic works via magic points that are used up during casting.

During the adventure, the characters have to solve various riddles or puzzles in order to be able to enter all parts of the game world. The dungeons are also often provided with traps.

extension

On April 9, 2013, the first expansion called Rise of the Dragons was released. The expansion is offered as an in-app purchase in the App Store and brings new cards, new spells, new skills and the new character class Dragon Caller into the game.
