Silvia Manser

Silvia Manser (* 1975 in Gais ) is a Swiss cook . Your Truube restaurant in Gais in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden was awarded one star in the Michelin Guide in 2015. In 2019 she received 16 points from Gault Millau .

Life

Manser grew up in Gais as the daughter of a host couple. Back then, the Truube was run by the mother as a neighborhood pub . Manser is married to Thomas Manser, a trained farmer, with whom she has been running the Truube in Gais since 2009. The couple has three children.

Career

From 1990 to 1993 Manser did his apprenticeship as a chef in the Sonne restaurant in Urnäsch . She also attended the Hotel Management School in Lucerne and completed various internships, for example with Reto Lampart. After living in Canada and the USA, she returned to her parents' company in 2001. The takeover and purchase of the Truube restaurant as well as a renovation took place in 2009 and 2010. In 2015 it received its first Michelin star. Along with Tanja Grandits and Maryline Nozahic, Silvia Manser is one of the most famous cooks in Switzerland.
