Altenbeuthen village church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church stands in the congregation Altenbeuthen in Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia . The parish Altenbeuthen belongs to the parish area Drognitz the church district Rudolstadt-Saalfeld.

A church building is recorded for the 12th century. The massive, plastered hall church with hipped gable roof and the attached choir tower with hood and lantern from today were built between 1715 and 1722. They both have slate cover . Parts of the previous Romanesque church were used. The sacristy , to the north of the nave , dates from the 14th century. It has a groin vault . The church was renovated in 1973 and 1988 . The interior has a flat ceiling from the construction period with depictions of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Lamb of God . The two-storey gallery is richly decorated. The baroque pulpit altar and the patron's box are from the construction period. The baptismal font was probably already in the Romanesque church.

The organ with 8 registers , divided into manual and pedal , was built by Johann Georg Fincke in 1716.
