Simeon Nyachae

Simeon Nyachae (* 1932 ) is a Kenyan politician .

biography

After attending middle school and the sovereignty of Kenya on December 12, 1963, he began a career in the civil service and was first a district official and later a provincial commissioner. After working as permanent secretary and then as chief secretary of the central government, he was most recently cabinet secretary and head of the public service.

In 1992 he was elected member of parliament for the first time , in which he represented the interests of the Nyaribari Chache constituency after the re-elections in 1997 and on December 27, 2002 to 2007 . In 1996 he was the founder of the Forum For The Restoration Of Democracy - People (FORD-P) , of which he has been chairman ever since.

In January 1998, President Daniel Arap Moi appointed him Minister of Agriculture in his cabinet. After a government reshuffle, he was supposed to be Minister of Industry on February 18, 1999, but renounced it and resigned.

On November 18, 2006, he was appointed Minister of Roads and Public Works in his government by Arap Moi's successor, Mwai Kibaki . He held this office until the new Prime Minister Raila Odinga took office in April 2008.
