Simeone Cattalinich

Simeone Cattalinich (born Šimun Katalinić on September 17, 1889 in Zara , Kingdom of Dalmatia ; died on March 4, 1977 ) was an Italian rower .

Cattalinich was born in the Kingdom of Dalmatia, part of Austria-Hungary . After the First World War , his hometown fell to Italy through the Rapallo border treaty .

Cattalinich belonged to the Italian eighth at the European Championships in 1922 , who won the silver medal behind the eighth from France. At the European Championships in 1923 , the Italian eighth with Luigi Miller , Carlo Toniatti , Simeone Cattalinich, Pietro Ivanov , Giuseppe Crivelli , Francesco Cattalinich , Bruno Sorich , Latino Galasso and helmsman Vittorio Gliubich won the title in front of the boat from Switzerland. The following year, the Italian eighth competed in the Olympic Games with Antonio Cattalinich , Francesco Cattalinich, Simeone Cattalinich, Giuseppe Crivelli, Latino Galasso, Pietro Ivanov, Bruno Sorich, Carlo Toniatti and Vittorio Gliubich. Behind the boats from the United States and Canada, the Italian eighth won the bronze medal ahead of the British.

The three Cattalinich brothers belonged to the Diadora rowing club in their hometown of Zara.
