Simon Beyeler

Simon Beyeler (born June 11, 1982 ) is a Swiss sports shooter . He shoots in the disciplines of small caliber prone shooting and air rifle as well as with the crossbow .

His greatest international success to date in the Olympic disciplines is a fifth place in the rifle prone match at the 2005 World Cup in Zagreb . In 2008 he qualified for the Summer Olympics in Beijing .

Especially in the various (non-Olympic) crossbow disciplines, Beyeler is among the best in the world. So far he has been world champion four times (3 wins in 2008, 1 win in 2006), three times European champion (2005) and four times junior European champion (two wins each in 2002 and 2003). At the 2008 World Championships in Sulgen , he achieved a new world record in the 30 m kneeling open class and 30 m overall open class .

Simon Beyeler lives in Schwarzenburg and works as head of credit administration at a regional bank. His younger sister Irene Beyeler is also a marksman.
