Simon Hanselmann (* 1981 in Launceston ) is an Australian comic artist .

Life

Simon Hanselmann was born in Launceston, Tasmania and grew up with his heroin addicted mother. He practiced as a comic artist from an early age, also to escape difficult circumstances. Around 2008 he created the drug-addicted protagonists Megg, Mogg & Owl , which is based on the British children's book series Meg and Mog by Helen Nicoll .

In 2013 and 2014 he was nominated for the Ignatz Award . Since then, his work has also received international attention and published in Vice magazine. In Germany some of his works were published by Avant-Verlag .
