In his “reaction art” he creates paintings through chemical and biological processes. His paintings are created through complex chemical and biological processes. These “alchemical mixing processes” cause the painting medium to mix by itself on the body of the picture. He is experimenting with the release of suspended particles with the help of filter systems. His works often change over several months until they are finished.

In 2017, the Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien presented 62 works by Quendler in the exhibition “Simon Quendler - Reactions”.

reception

According to Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien, he is considered a “pioneer of European reaction art”. With his “unmistakable style [...] he occupies an important position within painting in Europe”. "His attempt to elicit their essence and nature from paintings through reaction processes is seen as a counter-movement or even parody of modern technology."

The art investor wrote "Between fire, coal, bronze casts, canvases, heaps of ash, water barrels and mountains of paint, works are created that can be found in international museums, auction houses and galleries."
