Simone Schmollack

Simone Schmollack (* 1964 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and non-fiction author .

Life

Schmollack studied German and Slavic studies in Leipzig and Smolensk (Russia) from 1984 to 1989 as well as journalism at the Free University in Berlin. From 2009 to 2017 she was editor of the taz . Her main topics were women, family, gender, social affairs and East Germany. Most recently, she worked there as deputy head of the domestic department. From December 2017 to August 2018 she was editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper der Freitag . Since May 2019 she has been working again at taz, until October 2019 as Lower Saxony correspondent since then again in the central editorial office, since February 2020 as director of the taz news desk.
