Simone Wendland (born March 31, 1963 in Münster ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the 17th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since June 1, 2017  .

Life

Wendland attended the episcopal high school St. Mauritz in Münster. After high school she studied at the Münster Westphalian Wilhelms University Law , and graduated with the first state examination. She then completed her legal clerkship in Münster and graduated with the 2nd state examination.

Wendland has been working as a freelance lawyer in Ostbevern since 1995 . She is married and has a son.

politics

Wendland has been a member of the CDU since 1995. She is a member of the SME and Business Association , the Women's Union and the Local Political Association .

Wendland was elected to the Münster City Council for the first time in 2004; she was among other things deputy parliamentary group chairwoman and chairwoman of the committee for personnel, security and order. Currently (2017) she is the real estate policy spokeswoman for the CDU council group. In addition, she is a full member of the main and finance committee and the audit committee as well as a member of the supervisory board of the Westfälische Bauindustrie GmbH and the Münster Economic Development Corporation.

In the NRW state elections on May 14, 2017, Simone Wendland was directly elected in the Münster I constituency with 37.21% of the votes cast.
