The Sint-Maartensdal 5 , also Sint-Maartensdal Blok 5 , is a residential tower in the Belgian city of Leuven , the capital of the province of Flemish Brabant . The building is part of the Sint-Maartensdal complex, a building complex consisting of a total of seven residential towers, three of which exceed the 50-meter mark. The complex is not far from the city center.

history

The tower has a height of 115 meters. The actual roof height of the tower is 60.58 meters, but at the urging of the architect Renaat Braem, a 45 meter high antenna was installed on the roof. This antenna was not included in the construction plans, nor was there a building permit for the assembly of the part of the building. It is the tallest building in Leuven and Flemish Brabant. Despite its height, it is not considered the tallest residential building, as in this case the roof height is decisive. It is nonetheless one of the tallest buildings in Belgium and when it was completed was the second tallest skyscraper in the country after the Center International Rogier .

In 2002 the entire complex was completely renovated.
