Sint-Salvatorkerk (Utrecht)

The Salvatorkerk or Oud-Munsterkerk was one of the five medieval collegiate churches in the Dutch city ​​of Utrecht . It was located immediately south of the cathedral and was demolished in 1587.

history

The first Salvator Church was founded by Saint Willibrord perhaps around 695, at least before 724. The church was rebuilt in the 10th century under Bishop Balderich von Utrecht . In 1131 and 1253 St. Salvator was damaged by fire. In the late Middle Ages, the Romanesque church building underwent a Gothic redesign. After the Reformation was introduced in 1587, the church was completely demolished.
