Sint Maarten ( German  St. Martin ) is the Protestant parish church of Baarland (municipality of Borsele ) in the Dutch province of Zeeland . The church belongs to the Protestant Church in the Netherlands and is Rijksmonument under number 9958.

history

The oldest part of the church is the massive tower from the middle of the 14th century. A three-aisled hall church with a three-sided choir was added to it in the course of the 15th century. After the side aisles were demolished and the arcades were walled up in 1774, the church today only consists of a single nave, the former central nave.

The choir room was the renovation of the building with the requirements of Calvinist worship to preaching church not as so often canceled in Zeeland, but walled and subsequently used as a space for the school.
