Sint Maarten ( German  St. Martin ; also called Dorpskerk , German village church ) is an Evangelical Reformed parish church in Ouddorp on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in the Dutch province of South Holland . The parish belongs to the Protestant Church in the Netherlands and the church building is Rijksmonument under number 16267.

history

The church, which was consecrated to Saint Martin of Tours until the Reformation began , dates back to 1348. The oldest part is in the tuff listed Gothic closed on three sides chorus. The originally three-aisled nave was damaged in the course of the hook-and-cod war in 1490 and then rebuilt in a simplified manner. Around 1500 the tower was completely rebuilt in late Gothic forms. It has been vacant since 1734 when the nave was rebuilt and reduced in size. A transept was added in 1903, which was enlarged in 1924.
