tourism
Many Dutch and German tourists visit the place because of its location by the sea. The Port Zelande holiday park of the Dutch Center Parcs chain , which is located on Brouwersdam , part of the Delta Works , deserves special mention . In addition, Ouddorp has become a popular place for windsurfers who cavort in the up to three meter high and cleanly breaking waves on the sandbank about two kilometers off the coast. A meeting point for beach buggy drivers is the stretch of beach in front of the Westhoofd lighthouse (Dutch: Vuurtoren Westhoofd ), which is reserved for this sport. Bungalow parks and private holiday homes as well as several campsites (some with a large proportion of permanent campers) offer accommodation. Overnight stays in vehicles, tents, etc. outside the campsites and bungalow parks are prohibited in the entire region.
