Sirvan Ekici

Sirvan Ekici (born July 2, 1973 in Kırşehir , Turkey ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ): She is a former member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

School and professional career

Sirvan Ekici attended the Kindermanngasse elementary school in Vienna- Hernals from 1980 and subsequently the Geblergasse secondary school in Hernals. In 1988 she moved to the upper secondary school Hegelgasse , where she graduated in 1992. She then began studying political science as well as journalism and communication studies , which she completed in 1998 with the academic degree Magistra of Philosophy. After completing her studies, Ekici was project manager at the Dr. Karl Lueger Institute (project: “Integration - Opportunities for Coexistence”) and 2001 to 2002 project worker at the Political Academy in the context of the project “Foreigners - Integration”.

Political career

Sirvan Ekici was integration officer of the ÖVP Vienna between 2000 and 2005. In 2001 she worked at the Wiener Stadtfest and in 2002 she was involved in the coordination of target group campaigns for the 2002 National Council elections. She ran herself as a candidate on the federal and state lists. In 2004 she was again involved in the target group election campaign coordination , this time for the federal presidential and EU elections. That year she was also a project advisor for the 2004 Chamber of Labor elections and became the leader of the Margareten women's movement . Since 2002 she has also been a member of the ÖVP Internal Affairs Committee.

On November 18, 2005 Ekici was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council. She was a member of this until 2010.

Sirvan Ekici is divorced and has one daughter.
