Sitterviadukt (motorway)

The Sitter Viaduct is the highway bridge of the A1 via the sitter in St. Gallen .

It spans the water with a ten-field, 675 m long and 80 m wide concrete beam structure . It was created between 1980 and 1987. According to a count by the St. Gallen cantonal authorities, around 72,500 vehicles use the traffic route at this point every day, which corresponds to an 80 percent capacity utilization .

A footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists is suspended under the bridge and the St. Gallen Bridge Path leads past the viaduct.
