The Bull of Sicily , also Phalerischer bull, was Diodorus Siculus According as he in the Bibliotheca Historica reported one of the ancient Greek ore caster Perilaos ( 6th century BC.. ) Designed torture - and execution unit for the Sicilian ruler Phalaris of Akragas .

The bull was made of bronze and had an entrance opening. People could be locked up in it. The torture was performed by heating the cop. The people's cries for help are said to have sounded like the screams of a bull. This effect is said to have been caused by a complicated air corridor system.

In culture

In the movie War of the Gods , a bronze bull is used for torture.
