The Sjøelefantstranda ( Norwegian for elephant seals beach ) is a 300 m long beach on the Esmarch Coast to the west of the subantarctic Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic . It is north of the Catoodden headland .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1980.
