The Esmarch Coast ( Norwegian Esmarchkysten ) is a coast in the west of Bouvet Island . It lies between Cape Circoncision in the north and the headland of Catoodden in the south. The Morgenstierne coast connects to the northwest and the Vogt coast to the southwest .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1980. It is named after the Norwegian diplomat August Esmarch (1881–1956), State Secretary in the Norwegian Foreign Ministry from 1922 to 1935.
