Sjarhej Ablamejka

Sjarhej Uladsimirawitsch Ablamejka ( Belarusian Сяргей Уладзіміравіч Абламейка , English Sergey V. Ablameyko ; born September 24, 1956 in Woranava ) is a Belarusian mathematician and computer scientist who works in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition .

Life

Since 1978 he worked at the Institute for Technical Cybernetics in Minsk , first as a research assistant and later as a department head and from 1998 to 2002 as deputy director. From 2002 to 2008 he was General Director of the United Institute for Computer Science Problems in Minsk. Since 2008 he has been the rector of the Belarusian State University in Minsk. He is a member of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences . In 2011 he was accepted as a full member of the Academia Europaea .
