Michel "Sjel" de Bruijckere , also Sjel de Bruyckere (born February 6, 1928 in Kaatsheuvel , † September 21, 2011 in Melbourne , Australia ), was a Dutch football player .

Career

De Bruijckere moved in 1950 from RKSV Sarto to local rival Willem II Tilburg in the first Dutch football class. Under coach František Fadrhonc , the striker developed into a permanent force in the club's squad. De Bruyckere played a total of 167 games for Willem II and scored 80 goals. In 1952 and 1955 he was with the club of Dutch football champions .

In 1954 De Bruijckere also made it to the national team . Between October 1954 and April 1956 he was in the squad seven times and scored two goals in these games. This makes him the record international of Willem II Tilburg.

In 1956 De Bruijckere emigrated to Australia. He joined the Ringwood Wilhelmina association there. He later co-founded and served as executive director of the Victoria Soccer Players' Association .
