Skenholmen is an island off the coast of the largest Swedish island of Gotland . It is located in the northeast, south of Fårösund . The island has an area of ​​256.5 hectares.

Skenholmen has a rich bird fauna. Greylag geese , barnacle goose , several hundred pairs of eider ducks , avocets , dunlins , ruff , golden plover , curlew and little tern breed there . Sea eagles are often found on the island in winter . In order to protect the breeding birds, the island cannot be entered between March 15th and July 15th. Skenholmen is almost completely treeless and covered with grass. Sheep is farmed on the island.
