SketchSHE is an Australian comedy trio that gained virality on the YouTube and Facebook channels of the same name in 2015 thanks to their lip-syncing of popular songs . The members are Shae-Lee Shackleford, Lana Kington and Madison Lloyd.

history

Shae-Lee Shackleford and Lana Kington met and became friends while filming a promotional video. Shae-Lee had already worked as a screenwriter and producer on several film and video projects at the time; For example, in 2013 she wrote and produced the 16-minute short film The Anti-Social Network , in which she also participated as an actress. Shortly after Lana's and Shae-Lee's collaboration, they decided to shoot their first comedy sketches together. In 2014, Lana also met Madison through a promotional video, whereupon she joined the two. Together they shot their first videos and published them at the end of 2014 under the name SketchSHE. Initially, the videos hardly generated any clicks and the group quickly ran out of money. Since they wanted to continue producing in spite of everything, they decided in March 2015 to film a lip-sync to Queen’s Bohemian Rapsody with the title Bohemian Carsody in the car with their smartphone at no cost. Thanks to the video, the group achieved a high reach for the first time and attracted the media's attention. Her most successful video, however, was "Mime through Time," released that same month, a mashup of various successful pieces of music from the past 70 years that was once again lip-synced in the car. The video made the American presenter Ellen DeGeneres aware of her and invited her to join her show. SketchSHE has since made appearances on Good Morning America and performed their mashup in Times Square . In an interview with Australian Morning TV , the three women were asked how they came up with the idea of doing lip-syncing in the car, to which Shae-Lee replied:

"The car stuff, it's like anyone who lives in Sydney knows you spend a lot of time in traffic [...] it makes a lot more fun if you do that [lip-sync]."

In 2016 they produced and released their four-part musical "Traffic Jam".
