Ski Dubai is an indoor ski area in Dubai . It is located in the Al Barsha district directly on Sheikh Zayed Road . Opened in 2005, the facility is part of the Mall of the Emirates , one of the largest shopping centers in the Middle East.

On a snow-covered area of 22,500 m² there are five runs, which differ in difficulty, height and steepness. The longest is 400 meters long with a height difference of 60 meters. There is also a 90 meter long half pipe . The French company Pomagalski SA installed a four- person chair lift , a drag lift and a passenger conveyor belt to transport guests .

The Snow Park is intended for children and parents , here you will find sledging and bobsleigh runs on an area of 3,000 m². It is the largest indoor snow park in the world.

The temperature in the hall is constant between −1 and −2 ° C during the day and around −7 ° C at night when the snow is being made. The total capacity is designed for 1,500 people at the same time. Due to the high temperature differences to the outside world, a particularly powerful insulation technology had to be used.

The entrance to the facility is chargeable and takes place through the Mall of the Emirates, a shopping arcade opened at the end of 2005. From there you can also look into the ski facility from several floors through a glass front . There are also various cafes and hotels here, some in Alpine style.

In September 2009 the Mall of the Emirates and thus Ski Dubai was connected to the Dubai Metro via its own station .
