The skill stones form a row of blocks of four standing stones and are located in a small garden in the village of Tveide south of Birkeland in the community Birkenes , northwest of Lillesand in Fylke Agder in Norway .

The west-north-west-east-south-east oriented almost 4.0 m long row of building stones stands next to the former Tveide station on the former Lillesand-Flakksvann railway line. The tracks have now been removed and the route to Fylkesveg 256 expanded, which has been number 3754 since 2019. The upright, plate-shaped stones are only 20 to 30 cm apart.

  • The northwesternmost slab No. 1 is 1.32 meters high, 95 cm wide, 35 cm thick.
  • Plate No. 2 is 1.4 meters high, 85 cm wide and 30 cm thick.
  • Plate no.3 is 1.3 m high, 85 cm wide and 30 cm thick,
  • The fourth stone is 1.4 m high, 45 cm wide and the narrowest at 25 cm thick.

Before the station was built, the stones protruded 2 to 2.5 meters above the site. Due to the backfill of excavated material, only a height of up to 1.4 meters is visible.

The monument is legally protected according to § 4 of the Lov om Kulturminner ("Law on Cultural Heritage") and is managed by the Riksantikvaren under the ID 11947.
