Skyguard is an all-weather anti - aircraft system for fighting aircraft at low altitude and in the lower and medium altitude range up to 3000 m. The maximum effective distance is given as 4000 m. The system adopts the air surveillance, target acquisition, calculation of the derivative readings and control of two Oerlikon 35 mm - anti-aircraft guns . Skyguard is operated by four people.

It was created by Contraves . The weapon was introduced into the Swiss Army in the 1960s and is still in use there after increasing in value in 1975, 1995 and 2010. It had replaced the Contraves super bat system in the Swiss Air Force . The Skyguard radar system was used by the German Air Force to monitor low-altitude areas. Thanks to the hydraulic systems for antenna installation and leveling, the radar device is ready for use very quickly after it has been laid.
