Slaughter ( engl. , Slaughter ', slaughter') were among the first death metal -Bands at all. Thrash metal elements can also be found in their style .
Band history
The band was formed in 1984. In the early days of the band, Chuck Schuldiner was active as a guitarist. After the release of four demos you got a record deal with the music label Fringe, on which 1986 the debut album Strappado was released. This album is considered a reference work for early death metal. The song Fuck of Death was covered by Mortician , among others . According to Strappado , the publications were all made independently. The band broke up for the first time in 1989, but became active again in 1991 under the name Strappado (the name was changed due to the success of the hard rock band of the same name ) and reunited in 1996. This merger was actually only intended to record a cover version ( Dethroned Emperor ) of Celtic Frost for an upcoming tribute album . However, the band finally broke up in 2001.
