Sleeping People is an American band from San Diego , California . Her music is characterized by the use of complex rhythms and dissonant guitar runs, which is why she is often assigned to the genre math rock , for which these stylistic devices are decisive.

history

The band started in 2002 as a trio consisting of Kasey Boekholt (guitar), Joileah Maddock (guitar) and Brandon Relf (drums). With Kenseth Thibideau (including Pinback , Rumah Sakit) on bass, the four-person line-up was finally completed in 2003. They released their self-titled debut album in 2005 on the New York label Temporary Residence Limited . In the same year, Joileah Maddock left the band and was replaced by her friend Amber Coffman before she returned to Sleeping People in 2007.
