The William Hill Grand Slam of Darts 2011 was held from November 12th to 20th in the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and organized by the PDC .
In addition to 26 players from the PDC, 6 players from the competing darts association BDO were invited.
The game was played in eight groups of four, in each of which the top two qualified for the final round of the best 16 players.
The defending champion was the English BDO player Scott Waites .
Record world champion Phil Taylor won the tournament for the fourth time with a 16: 4 final win against Gary Anderson .

In contrast to other tournaments, the qualification criteria were not based on rankings, but on victories, finals and semi-finals at the major PDC tournaments and the BDO World Championship in previous years. In addition, two starting places were played out in a wildcard tournament.
The Australian top player Simon Whitlock had to cancel due to an injury and was replaced by Ian White , third place in the wildcard tournament.
