The Smart Pool Trading Limited (short Smartpool ) was one of the investment banks BNP Paribas , HSBC and JP Morgan together with the stock exchange operator NYSE Euro Next as a dark pool operated Multilateral Trading System (Multi-lateral Trading Facility - MTF) based in London . It was decommissioned on July 7, 2017 and replaced by Euronext Block on July 31, 2017.

Since February 2, 2009, billing has been processed via the central counterparty EuroCCP . Securities are held via LCH.Clearnet .

Instinet Europe , a subsidiary of the Japanese investment bank Nomura Holdings , has also been trading via SmartPool since February 2, 2009 .

In addition to the owners, Credit Suisse , Exane , Instinet , ITG , Knight Capital , Neonet , Nomura Holdings , Oddo et Cie , the Royal Bank of Scotland , Stanford Bernstein and UBS have also announced support for SmartPools.
