The Chi-X Europe Limited (short Chi-X ) is a multilateral trading facility (MTF) , headquartered in London , the majority to Instinet , a subsidiary of the Japanese banking group Nomura Holdings heard.

backgrounds

The first shares were traded on March 30, 2007 on Chi-X. Since the start on March 29, 2007, the European Multilateral Clearing Facility (EMCF) has taken on the clearing for the traded contracts. Deutsche Bank has also been connected to the Chi-X trading system since June 2008 .

In May 2009, LCH.Clearnet confirmed that they are also planning to start clearing services for Chi-X.

Ownership structure

The founder and main owner of Chi-X is Instinet, a subsidiary of the Japanese banking group Nomura Holdings . In addition, since December 2007 the investment banks and brokers BNP Paribas , Citi , Credit Suisse , Fortis , Goldman Sachs , Lehman Brothers (until 2008), Merrill Lynch , Morgan Stanley , Société Générale , UBS , Citadel (Chicago hedge fund), Optiver ( Dealers) and Getco Europe (dealers) larger shares.
