The Instinet, LLC , a subsidiary of Japanese banking group Nomura Holdings is an American operators of trading systems based in New York City .
history
Instinet, one of Wall Street's oldest electronic trading systems companies, was founded in 1969. In 1987, Instinet was acquired by Reuters . The IPO Instinet was made in 2001 before the Japanese banking group Nomura Holdings bought up the company in of 2007.
As early as October 2006, Instinet began to set up the multilateral trading system Chi-X , which began trading on March 30, 2007, six months after the company was founded.
