Soccer golf

Football Golf ( English Football Golf ) is a ball game , the elements of soccer and golf combined. The sport has its origins in Sweden, the first facilities there appeared in the 1980s. Since then, over 50 plants have been built, especially in Scandinavia. Bushball is similar to soccer golf .

The aim is to shoot the soccer ball into the target hole with the foot with as few ball touches as possible.

Rules and game play

Football golf is played with a football that must be brought into a goal with as few shots as possible. The target can be holes in the ground filled with concrete, special nets or pots at a higher level.

Usually, as in golf, 18 holes are played one after the other. Their length is between 50 and 250 meters. For each lane there is a specified number of par , which serves as a guideline for the number of shots. The maximum number of shots for each lane is three times the par value.

Every touch of the ball counts as a shot. If the ball hits the rough (tall grass, weeds), it can be played from there. If it flies or rolls onto another lane, the player receives a penalty point and the ball is returned to the launch point. If the ball gets into the vegetation at the edge of the field or in an otherwise unplayable place, it can be moved back and there is a penalty point.

The points are calculated according to the number of shots and penalty points. The player with the fewest points wins the game.

Distribution in Germany

The first plant was opened in Dirmstein in July 2006 . It includes 36 lanes. There are other certified plants in Detmold (NRW), Beckingen (Saarland), Bodenkirchen (Bavaria), Rehling near Augsburg, Ottendorf-Okrilla (Saxony), Inzell and Neuried-Dundenheim near Offenburg (Baden-Württemberg). There are also places in Schwerin, Pleinfeld am Brombachsee and, since mid-August 2017, again in Königswinter- Vinxel. Football golf courses can also be found in Sande, Hagen im Bremischen, Pfullendorf , Oldenburg and Wiefelstede.

Distribution in Austria

In June 2007 the first German-speaking soccergolf club was founded in Upper Austria under the name Soccergolf-Pramtal. The club had a 6-hole course in Taufkirchen / Pram (district Schärding / Upper Austria), which has been closed since 2009. In 2013 the Soccerpark Salzburg was opened in Wals-Siezenheim with 18 fairways (32,000 m²).

World championships

The first soccer golf world championship took place in 2007 in the soccer park in Dirmstein (Germany). In 2008, Uppsala, Sweden hosted the second soccer golf world championship. In July 2009 Sunds Fodboldgolf hosted the World Championship in Herning (Denmark). Futbol Golf Catalunya in Macanet de Cabrenys (Spain) hosted the 2010 World Cup. In 2011 the Soccerpark Dirmstein hosted the Soccer Golf World Cup for the second time. In 2012 the competition took place in Varde (Denmark). In 2013, Alunda (Sweden) hosted the World Cup.

Others

In addition to Sweden, Germany and Denmark, there are other permanent football golf courses in Norway. There is a soccer golf course in Spain and Thailand.
