Société Internationale des Artistes Chrétiens
The SIAC ( Société Internationale des Artistes Chrétiens ) is an international society of Catholic artists and one of five secretariats of the Pax Romana ICMICA . It was founded in 1951 to bring together artists from many countries who live and work according to Christian values. At the congresses in Copenhagen in 1965 and in Schlierbach (Austria) in 1998, the society was restructured and ecumenically oriented.
The umbrella organization Pax Romana ICMICA, founded in Rome as early as 1947, is a world association of Roman Catholic academics and artists, has 63 member associations in 49 countries on all continents and is at the United Nations (UN) in New York, at the Organization for Education, Science and Culture ( UNESCO ) in Paris, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in Vienna and the European Union (EU) in Strasbourg recognized as a non-governmental organization .
