The Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales ( SEPI ; German Staatsgesellschaft für Industriebeteiligungen ) is an umbrella company founded by the Spanish state in 1995 to manage state-owned companies and investments. It largely replaced the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI) and is subordinate to the Spanish Ministry of Finance.

In 2005, SEPI was the majority shareholder of the IZAR and Navantia shipyards , the Spanish news agency EFE , the radio and television company RTVE , the mining companies Hunosa (hard coal mining in Asturias ), Presur (copper and iron ore mining in Minas de Riotinto in the province of Huelva ) and Mayasa (Mercury extraction in Almadén ) and the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela racecourse in Madrid . Development companies for rural development , tourism promotion and investment promotion also belong to the SEPI. The holding company also holds approximately 5 percent of the shares in Iberia , 5.46 percent in the aerospace company Airbus Group and 2.95 percent in Endesa .
