The province of Huelva ( Spanish Provincia de Huelva ) is one of the eight provinces of the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain . The capital is Huelva .
It is located in the very west of Andalusia and borders the provinces of Cádiz and Seville , as well as Badajoz (autonomous region of Extremadura ), Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean .
The area of the province extends over 10,128.01 km², the population amounts to 521,870 people (January 1, 2019), of which about 30% live in the capital. In the north rises the Sierra de Huelva , with the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park .
Huelva shares with the province of Seville the Coto de Doñana National Park , one of the largest nature reserves in Europe .

The province has been divided into six comarcas since March 28, 2003 , with the "Sierra de Huelva" and "el Andévalo" being subdivided into western (Occiental) and eastern (Oriental) areas in some lists.
