Almonte is a Spanish city ​​in the province of Huelva , in the autonomous region of Andalusia . On January 1, 2019, there were 24,191 residents. The urban area has an area of ​​861 km² and a population density of 28 inhabitants / km². The place is 75 m above sea level and 55 km from the provincial capital Huelva .

The municipality includes the pilgrimage site of El Rocío , the beach of Matalascañas and part of the Coto de Doñana National Park .
