Gibraleón is a Spanish city ​​in the province of Huelva in the autonomous region of Andalusia . On January 1, 2019, 12,607 residents lived there. The urban area has an area of ​​328 km² and a population density of 38 inhabitants / km². The city is 26 m above sea level on the Odiel River and 14 km from the provincial capital Huelva .

  • Iglesia del Carmen - The oldest church in the city was built in 1331 in the Mudejar style and expanded to include "Christian" style elements in the 16th century.
  • Iglesia de Santiago el Mayor - A 16th century church; built in renaissance style.
  • Parroquia de San Juan - The current parish church dates from 1380 and was built on the ruins of a mosque .
  • Convento del Vado - The monastery was founded in 1587 by the Duke of Bejár and built in the Mudéjar style. After it was partially destroyed in the Spanish Civil War , it was opened for viewing again after its restoration.
