Valladolid is a province of the Spanish autonomous community of Castile and León . It covers an area of 8,110.49 km² and has 519,546 inhabitants (2019) who live in 255 communities . Its capital is Valladolid .

Valladolid borders the province of León to the northwest , Palencia to the north, Burgos to the east, Segovia to the southeast, Ávila to the south, Salamanca to the southwest and Zamora to the west . It also includes a small exclave between the provinces of León and Zamora, as well as a small exclave in the province of León.
Administrative division
The province comprises 225 cities and municipalities ( municipios ) , which are grouped into seven districts / districts ( comarcas ) : Tierra del Vino , Tierra del Pan , Tierra de Campos , Tierra de Pinares , Campo de Peñafiel , Campiña del Pisuerga and Páramos del Esgueva .
