The Sociedad Gallega de Ortopedia y Traumatología (Galician Society for Orthopedics and Traumatology) is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1980 that aims to improve the personal and professional knowledge of trauma surgeons as well as scientific and technical progress in the fields of orthopedics and traumatology .

The aim of the company is to improve personal and professional knowledge among trauma surgeons, to disseminate information about modern scientific methods and technical processes, as well as information about the latest scientific findings. In addition, it aims at the exchange of experiences between orthopedists, traumatologists and related professional groups and serves to promote research.

The activities of the association have developed continuously and consist of the realization of scientific congresses, conferences and meetings, working groups as well as the creation and provision of grants and awards
