The Società Italiana di Scienze Naturali (SISN, German: Italian Society for Natural Sciences) is a non-profit society for the promotion of natural sciences based in the Natural History Museum in Milan .

In 1856 the Società Geologica residente in Milano (geological society based in Milan) was founded and received its royal confirmation on July 23, 1857. The name was changed to its current name in 1860. Since 1866 the company has been in the Natural History Museum in Milan.

In cooperation with the Natural History Museum, the SISN publishes several journals, including the Rivista Italiana di Ornitologia e Natura and the Paleontologia Lombarda , which deal with finds from the paleontologically important excavation area near Besano .
