Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage

Societe Ivoirienne de Raffinage or SIR for short is the state-owned oil refining company of the Ivory Coast . It is directed by Laurent Otto Zirignon (February 2011). The Angolan state oil company Sonangol is a partner in SIR.

There are several SIR refineries in Port-Bouët .

At the beginning of 2011, the SIR was affected by the EU's sanctions against Ivorian companies because it provided Laurent Gbagbo with funds during the government crisis after the 2010 elections .
